#Vanlife: Tracing Gabby Petito’s social media journey before she disappeared - NBC2 News

North Port resident Gabby Petito was reported missing on September 11. Since then, public attention has turned to her social media presence, which chronicled her travel journey with her partner, Brian Laundrie.

Laundrie has been referred to as both Petito’s boyfriend and fiancé, but to police, he is considered a person of interest.

Background

The 22-year-old was trekking across the county in a van with Laundrie, when she vanished. Petito had her last FaceTime call with her parents while she was in Utah on August 21.

Petito’s mother received her last text from her daughter on August 30. During this time, Laundrie quietly returned to the couple’s North Port home without Petito, arriving on September 1.

After this period of silence, Petito’s family reported her missing on September 11. The family contacted the Suffolk County Police Department, where they live on Long Island, NY. This lead to the discovery of the couple’s 2012 Ford Transit van at the North Port residence.
