A personal injury expert from Leicester has revealed all you need to know about your rights when it comes to e-scooters and personal injury claims.
Leicestershire Police has already seized twelve of the scooters this year for illegal riding across the county.
Spelling out the law, a force spokesperson said: "Electric scooters are dangerous vehicles in the wrong hands and are currently illegal to use both on the road and in public areas in Leicestershire."
A number of injuries have been caused by e-scooters including in July 2020 when six-year-old, Jamie suffered a fractured skull after being hit by an e-scooter rider in Leicester.
E-scooters are expected to be involved in around 200,000 accidents by the end of the year, according to research by dashcam company, Nextbase.

Ms Preece told LeicestershireLive: "Although they provide a number of benefits, such as offering a cleaner, lower carbon alternative to motor vehicles, there's been a continued increase in the number of personal injury claims arising since e-scooters were introduced – including several serious incidents that have resulted in catastrophic injuries and even fatalities.
