When the dolls first started coming in, Malek said she wouldn't bring them into the museum where her office is.
The museum has a "very loose deadline" of Oct. 9 for doll contest submissions but Malek said they will accept some the week of Halloween.
People can bring dolls to the museum 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Dolls with a "high creep factor" are most encouraged, like creepy old dolls or newer dolls that have been "artificially creeped out.
People will be able to see the dolls from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 9 and Oct. 16 and from 2 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 23 and Oct. 30. The dolls will be in the museum's train depot and people will be able to vote for the doll they think is creepiest by putting a dollar bill in its corresponding jar. The accolades are the prize for the doll, but the real prize is the museum receiving financial support, with all money raised going to the museum, Malek said.
