Chronic Kidney Disease - Camfil Air Filtration Expert Discusses Disease and PM2.5 in Air Pollution

Camfil resource discusses chronic kidney disease and air pollution.

In a new resource, air quality experts explain new research about the link between ambient air quality and chronic kidney disease.

It is commonly understood that air pollution causes or worsens a wide range of health problems in the cardiorespiratory system, but the effects of poor air quality go beyond the lungs and heart. In a new resource by Camfil, a global air filter engineering, research, and manufacturing company, air quality experts explain new research about the link between ambient air quality and chronic kidney disease.

“In the United States, indoor particulate matter concentration is usually two to five times higher than outdoor particulate matter exposure, according to the EPA. Consequently, indoor particulate matter exposure in some areas of the U.S. may be comparable to the exposure levels examined in the study,” said Mark Davidson, Camfil’s Manager of Marketing and Technical Materials, “Considering most Americans spend 90% or more of their time indoors, indoor particulate matter exposure is a significant health concern.”

The resource explains:

  • What is PM2.5 in air pollution?

  • What are the health effects of PM2.5?

  • What is the link between air pollution and kidney disease?

  • How can air filtration combat the health effects of air pollution?
