Joshua Brown is a licensed real estate broker and the CEO and Founder of Pushing Forward Realty. As a Brooklyn native, Joshua’s passion for community improvement runs deep. Growing up, he watched his father, a now retired pastor, serve as a spiritual leader, an agent for community improvement, and an advocate of fair play. Inspired by those lessons, Joshua launched a new kind of real estate company. Joshua serves as Vice-Chairperson for Brooklyn Community Board #4 and in 2018, he served as co-chair of the Housing and Land Use Committee, where he advocated on behalf of community stakeholders. In addition, Joshua is a father, a husband and a pilot. In this episode, he talks about how he built his real estate business based on a culture of cooperation as opposed to the more common culture of competition, how he incorporates educating the community into his business model, and what freedom looks like to him.
