2021 Community Accelerator Program Announced By Facebook – Up to $50K Funding to Each Community

Facebook's Community Accelerator Program to help groups maximize their skills. Each community receives $50K USD to help fund work.

Facebook has unveiled the next step of its Community Accelerator Program, which is intended to assist Facebook group administrators or organizations with a role in Facebook communities in developing their leadership skills and making greater use of Facebook's resources to increase community impact.

"Facebook Announces 2021 Community Accelerator Grant Program to Assist Facebook Community Leaders. The program offers funding and training to the selected participants, in order to provide guidance and means to expand their presence." [1]

Funding and Guidance

The program provides funding and guidance to chosen applicants to provide feedback and resources to help them develop their presence.

Facebook says, "Through the program, each community will receive up to $50k USD to help fund work that advances the community's goals. A subset of communities will be eligible to receive part of $1 million USD in additional funding."]

The model also provides participants with access to the most recent community features and resources, and Facebook collaborates with participants to help understand key areas of future growth.

1.8 Billion Users Currently Participating

Maximize the engagement through Facebook Community Accelerator Grant Program. Facebook first introduced the service last year as part of a larger effort to increase interaction in Facebook communities and provide more support channels for community administrators.

More than 1.8 billion users currently participate in Facebook Groups each month, with about 400 million belonging to what Facebook refers to as "very meaningful" groups, or groups that become integral to their interactive and help process.

Up to $7.5 Million Investment

Facebook aims to increase interaction and better bind people through its resources, and in order to do so, it has to have more support and education where possible. Overall, Facebook is pledging up to $7.5 million in investment as part of the 2021 Accelerator Scheme.

Facebook added, "Selected community leaders will spend five months learning from experts, coaches, and a customized curriculum so they can organize and strengthen their community to work better together. Participants will then spend three months executing their initiatives. They will collaborate with advocates and leaders in the community space and work with the Facebook team to bring their ideas to life."

How Could It Benefit Users?

It's an innovative Facebook project that could have a variety of neighborhood advantages. Group administrators are always unsung heroes, working behind the scenes to foster dialogue, and it's encouraging to see Facebook recognize the commitment and look to offer additional avenues for help - and, critically, payment - as for many users, this may become a part-time or even full-time task.

And, as a result of the pandemic, more people are communicating digitally than ever before, making the link much more significant, while the skills gained through this training could then be passed to new community administrators and leaders, enhancing their knowledge pool.

Certainly, this is a success factor, and if more community admins began to enhance their operation, it would be broadly positive, both on the one hand and on the other.

The 2021 Community Accelerator Program Open to

In Facebook Groups with leaders aged 18 or older living in the following countries, the 2021 Community Accelerator Program is open: Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Malaysia, the U.K, the USA, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco & India, Switzerland, Argentina, Sri Lanka, and Macedonia.

The collectivities must be more than one year old and must have a minimum membership of 1,000 members.
