2021 The national public entrepreneurship peoples innovation week

On 25 October 2021, the Shenzhen Bao’an District People’ Municipal Government hosted the RCEP Nations Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum supported by the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Bureau and Bao’an District Investment Office, and organized by iMakerbase.

The theme for this event was Cooperate, Be Open, Innovate, and Share. iMakerbase held a series of three activities for the event: the RCEP Nations Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, the RCEP Sino-Korean Innovation and Entrepreneurship Collaboration Forum, and the RCEP Sino-Japanese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Collaboration Forum. Innovation organizations and entrepreneurs from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Chinese Hong Kong, Chinese Taiwan, and other regions attended the event to explore cooperation and opportunities between innovation organizations from RCEP nations.

Innovation and entrepreneurship experts of RCEP regions from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan were honored guests that gave speeches at the event. They included Mr Lee Oh-Sik, Pohang District Vice-Chairman, 7th Director of Pohang Technology Park, and Pohang Southern District Mayor, Mr Shinji Komura, Chairman Switch Science from Japan, Mr Takasu Masakazu, a well-known Japanese maker and guest lecturer at Waseda University, Mr Kim Young-jun, Seoul entrepreneur, Mr Polo Zeng, Chairman of Singapore Global Equity Exchange, Mr Jenxi Seow, Malaysian entrepreneur and CEO of CheeseFlow, Mr Rao Jinxing, Head of Shenzhen Institute of Social Organization, Associate Professor Wen Wen of Shenzhen University, Professor Wei Qun of Keimyung University, and Ms Amy Lo, veteran intellectual property and capital operation expert.

In the 2021 Government Work Report, strengthening the national strategic technological power has become the top priority. Innovation in science and technology has been elevated to an unprecedented status. A new cycle of technological revolution is underway, and the coming decades will be a golden era of new hardware innovation and entrepreneurship. Independent research and development of innovative new technology with high barriers of entry and critical competitiveness will become the way for China to overtake and lead global innovation..

At the event, iMakerbase together with Crowdsourced TV launched the 2021 Shenzhen iMB GBA Star Hardware Innovation Ranking to discover outstanding innovation talents and incubate quality hardware technology projects.

By combining both online and offline means, RCEP nations connected and opened up about innovation with the goal of driving the development of new technological innovation and entrepreneurship partnerships between RCEP nations.

As the international innovation center with the closest partnerships with Japan and Korea, iMakerbase has a good network and foundation for international innovation cooperation with RCEP nations. iMakerbase Korea’s International Innovation Center was established in Seoul in 2017. iMakerbase opened an innovation workstation in Tokyo in 2019. iMakerbase also has international liaison offices in Malaysia and Singapore.
