Using Instagram to grow your business doesn’t only require social media skills but SEO as well. Your Instagram profile must be seen by as many people as possible, and you can do it by improving its SEO.
Instagram Manager and Tiktoker, Kels, said that Instagram works like a search engine, and you should take advantage of it if you want your account to be seen by more people and you want better engagement.
Kels taught her followers how to improve the SEO of their Instagram accounts with these two tips:
1. Make sure your account is set on public. If set on public, your account can be found through keywords. Here are the places where you need to put keywords:
Captions for all your posts
2. Optimize your post's Alt-text. Only a few people utilize Alt-text. You should use it as it makes your posts more visible.
Here's how to use it:
Go to your post, then press Advanced Settings, scroll down to the bottom, and under Accessibility, you'll see Write Alt-text. You enter a description of your post or photo in the text field.
You need to use as many keywords as you can in your bio, captions, and alt-text.
Using the right keywords is key to getting visits from your target customers. When you improve your profile’s visibility, you increase the number of your leads. The more leads you have, the higher the chance you can improve your sales.
