Caring for Care Announces New Initiative: Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

The Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults initiative focuses on five key pillars: Awareness, Collaboration, Empowerment, Person-centred care and support, and Accountability.

Caring for Care, a leading provider of health and social care training in the UK, is proud to announce its new initiative, "Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults". This initiative is designed to promote the well-being and protection of vulnerable adults through effective care and support.

In the shadows of our communities, a silent struggle is faced by a significant portion of the population—vulnerable adults who are often unseen, unheard, and left unprotected. These individuals, encompassing various age groups and circumstances, face a multitude of challenges that place them at heightened risk.

The initiative aims to address the unique challenges faced by vulnerable adults, such as abuse, neglect, exploitation, and social isolation. It seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of caregivers, health professionals, and the general public through its Safeguarding Adult Training, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.

According to FCA Data (2021), 28 million adults in the UK are now considered vulnerable. This includes elderly individuals, individuals with disabilities, those with mental health conditions, survivors of abuse or trauma, and individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty. Older adults are particularly at risk, with 63% of vulnerable adults being over the age of 65.

The Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults initiative focuses on five key pillars: Awareness, Collaboration, Empowerment, Person-centred care and support, and Accountability. By addressing these pillars, Caring for Care aims to strengthen advocacy efforts and provide comprehensive protection for vulnerable adults in our society.

Caring for Care is committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of vulnerable adults. Through this initiative, the organisation aims to amplify the voices of those who are often marginalised and unheard, challenge societal norms and attitudes that perpetuate their vulnerability and exclusion, and drive positive changes in practices to ensure that the rights and well-being of vulnerable adults are prioritised and protected.
