National Reading Month with Edward and Christina Sledge

Sledge House Media founders debut their new children’s book, A Day at Shea

March is National Reading Month and with baseball season right around the corner it is a perfect time to reintroduce this couple and their new children’s book!

Married couple of 24 years, Edward and Christina Sledge wrote and published their memoir, The Story of Christina and I and Our Marriage: An Essay a few years ago, and it has been a huge success for them. But their most recent book will definitely take readers on an adventure, like never before.

Their debut children's book, A Day at Shea was released on earlier this year as a top new release and best seller on Amazon.com. A Day at Shea is about a day at a ballgame. The main character, an African-American girl named Chris, is a baseball fan but no one can take her to a game. With determination and grit, she figures out a way to see her favorite team in Queens. A Day at Shea is based on Edward's (Co-founder of Sledge House Media) true story of going to his first baseball game by himself using a free ticket from a Kellogg's Frosted Flakes cereal box to see Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden play with New York Mets at Shea Stadium when he was nine years old. The story has been reimagined with his wife, Christina, as the main character.
