George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands - On Saturday, April 20th, 2024, the Vault Compass Center hosted the 4th annual Cayman Islands Business Design Competition "Pitch Day." This year, six innovative Cayman-born projects competed for top honors, but it was the Hunted Offshore App that captured the prestigious "Project of the Year" award. This initiative, which focuses on creating a marketplace for offshore professional and legal services recruitment, was spearheaded by human capital expert Kayleigh Wright.
Charlie Kirkconnell, CEO of CEC and Director of Enterprise Cayman, noted, “Our Business Design Competition is a key component of what leading regional economist Marla Dukharan has called the ‘largest innovation ecosystem in the region’. Storytelling Award
The Hunted Offshore App also secured the "Best Storytelling Award" from Cayman Story, thanks to its compelling presentation which featured a structured story complete with protagonists, antagonists, and a guide. This narrative approach is aligned with the IKIGAI principles used by Qamar Zaman of Storytelling, who selected Kayleigh Wright's project for its effective communication and innovative approach. The app aims to democratize access to offshore opportunities, embodying Zaman’s storytelling framework.
Additional winners of the evening included EcoBloxx and E-Waste Recycling, both recognized for their contributions to sustainability and community impact.
