HackerNoon & Bright Data Announce AI Writing Contest with $2,500 Prize Pool

HackerNoon, the independent tech publishing platform, is pleased to announce the launch of the AI Writing Contest, in partnership with Bright Data — a leader in web data collection and proxy services

The AI Writing Contest contest invites developers, data scientists, writers, and researchers to explore the vital role of data in AI and LLM training for a chance to win up to $2,500 in prizes.

The contest is open for submissions until December 1, 2024, and participants are invited to submit entries in one or more of the following themes:

  • The emerging trends in AI and LLM data collection and their potential implications for current practices.

  • Utilized Bright Data to collect web data for AI projects, providing a detailed analysis of the tasks performed and the results achieved.

  • How public web data can be labeled to boost AI performance, with examples.

  • How Bright Data’s tools can be leveraged to improve the training of AI and LLM models.

  • Web scraping tools that could improve AI training data.

  • Real-world examples of large-scale web data used to train AI models.

  • Ways to optimize data pipelines for better AI training.

To help participants prepare for the contest, Bright Data is offering $15 in credits to explore its Web Data for AI and Dataset Marketplace. Additionally, participants can improve their submissions with HackerNoon’s detailed writing template for the contest.

As with all HackerNoon writing contests, participants aged 18 and over from anywhere in the world can submit multiple entries. Each entry will be evaluated independently during the voting round.
