Secretive data analytics specialist Palantir Technologies on Monday announced its first profitable quarter since the US company was founded nearly 20 years ago.. While Palantir's data practices and algorithms are secret, the company claims it follows a roadmap which is, if anything, more ethical than its tech sector rivals.

Ford to build new US electric battery plant with Chinese partner

US auto manufacturer Ford announced Monday that it will build a new $3.5 billion battery plant in Michigan, diversifying its battery offerings with technology from a Chinese company as it boosts electric vehicle production.. Ford Chairman Bill Ford and other company brass joined Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer at an event to tout the venture, which involves a partnership with Chinese firm Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.  Whitmer, a Democrat, touted the announcement as "another win for Michigan," citing the addition of 2,500 new manufacturing jobs.

Russia says gas exports sank in 2022 but oil up

The eurozone economy will grow more than previously forecast in 2023 as the energy crisis eases and the single currency area "narrowly" avoids recession this winter, the European Commission said Monday.. Signs have grown the eurozone may have passed the worst of an economic shock, with inflation slowing from a peak in October and the single currency area eking out growth at the end of 2022.
